Red Bank Charter School is a Pre-K through 8th Grade school with around 200 students. The school is about 15 minutes directly east of Holmdel, in the town of Red Bank, so it's a fairly short commute. Students compete in several sports, and there are extracurricular clubs available.

Hope Academy Charter School is a K through 8 school located in the city of Asbury Park, near the Jersey Shore. It has an enrollment of around 250 students each year, selected by lottery. Enrollment applications are offered in English, Creole, and Spanish. Many of the students attending Hope Academy are learning English as an additional language.

Academy Charter High School is a grade 9 through 12 high school in the borough of Lake Como, which is about a 30-minute commute to the southeast of Holmdel. Which Private Schools Are Near Holmdel, NJ?

Holmdel has several private schools within the city limits: two are Catholic schools, and one is a secular private school.

The New School of Monmouth County is located on Middle Road in the northeast part of Holmdel. This is a competitive private school that enrolls fewer than three dozen students each year, offering three family-style classrooms of 10 to 15 students each. This includes a K through 2nd Grade classroom, a 3rd through 5th Grade one, and a 6th through 8th Grade one. Students receive outdoor educational instruction nearly every day, as the school is located right next to Allocco Park.

St. Benedict Catholic School is a private K through 8 school with more than 400 students enrolled each year. Students spend time every day in the school's Outdoor Learning Center, where they work on age-appropriate activities ranging from pallet gardening to anti-erosion projects, and building and installing new features. It also offers up to six weeks of outdoor summer camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for families that want to participate.

St. Benedict feeds into St. John Vianney High School where more than 800 students in grades 9 through 12 are enrolled every year. St. John Vianney uses a 4x4 block scheduling system, in which students complete eight classes per year (four in the fall semester and four in the spring). Students can also earn college credits early while attending this school.

Colleges & Universities Near Holmdel

Holmdel offers local schools for post-secondary pursuits as well. While there is the option of community college, there are also two private college options.

Brookdale Community College is in a very convenient location for Holmdel students. The two-year college is technically in Lincroft Township, but it's only about a 5- to 10-minute drive away from most neighborhoods in Holmdel. More than 14,000 students enroll at the school each year. Brookdale is both a sea-grant and a space-grant school, offering research programs dedicated to exploring the oceans and space. It offers more than 75 associate degree programs.

The Rutgers-New Brunswick campus is about a 40-minute commute to the northwest from Holmdel. This private research university is one of a handful of "colonial colleges" in the United States and has been in continuous operation since 1766.
