The township is also famous for its Bridgewater Commons mall, the upscale 900,000 square foot mall with many trendy stores and specialty shops.

The Bridgewater-Raritan District has six K-3 primary schools, two intermediate schools for Grades 4-5, a middle school for Grades 6-8, and also a high school, which holds 1,194 students. All schools are located in Bridgewater, except for a single primary school. Average class size through the district ranges from 19.2-23.2, compared with the state average of 20.8.
