Echo Lake Park provides residents with many activities, such as boating, fishing, and local concerts. The most used recreational facility is the Mountainside Community Pool, which has facilities including an Olympic swimming pool, waterslides, and grassy areas for sunbathing and picnicking. Mountainside students go to a nearby high school located in the Berkeley Heights community, to which the borough pays the tuition. There are currently 220 students attending the school.
