Summit is atop the 450-foot Watchung Mountains, which means homes are on winding hillside streets. Buyers moving to Summit will find that home prices generally range from the $300,000s up through the $1 million mark and beyond. The city has a beautiful Olympic-sized pool on Ashwood Avenue and a nine-hole golf course on River Avenue, which both attract many residents. Summit has a lot of history, which can be seen, but it’s also modernizing itself and staying up to date, which allows for the best of both worlds for residents.

Summit is just about 30 minutes from Manhattan and Newark International Airport. Summit is the ideal place for commuters to settle down and enjoy a residential area. Summit also prides itself on how welcoming the city is, how relaxed and walkable downtown is, and how business owners literally remember you by name. There are many galleries, cultural events, antique shops, and performances, which make Summit a destination for those who enjoy creativity and arts. The Summit Playhouse is a very popular destination for tourists and was founded in 1918. It is recognized as being the longest continuously operating theater.

With one high school, one middle school, and five elementary schools, the Summit Public School District has 2,300 students. Summit High School has a wide variety of athletic programs for its students, with 25 varsity teams. Other schools in Summit include private options, and there are charter schools and universities nearby.
