Verona Real Estate Market

Verona offers a wide range of housing options—at a wide range of prices—that will appeal to just about anyone. For example, you can purchase a one-bedroom condominium built in the mid-sixties for less than $200,000. A three-bedroom condo in a mid-sixties high-rise would fetch about $1.5 million on the high end of the same spectrum. Another affluent option at the same price point would be a large Victorian home overlooking Lake Verona.

You don’t have to be rich to live in Verona, however. Verona's median sale price is well under $500,000, and very nice homes in neighborhoods such as Forest Avenue come with a price tag under $400,000.

Verona is considered prime real estate because it combines relative affordability with easy access to Manhattan and the Northern New Jersey commercial centers. There is a price point to match virtually any home-buying budget in Verona.

Verona Community Amenities

Verona is very convenient from a transportation perspective, with easy access to three major highways—Interstates 80 and 280 and the Garden State Parkway. These major arteries form a triangle around the township but are far enough removed to prevent traffic-related problems. Although it is not on a rail line, Verona’s proximity to these highways provides easy automobile access to New York City, about 20 miles away.

Verona is a picturesque little town. Verona Park, located in the heart of the township, surrounds a 13-acre lake created in 1814 to power a mill. The lake is a popular venue for boating, fishing, swimming, and skating in the winter. Essex County continuously upgrades Verona Park, which today boasts an exercise court, playground, boathouse, tennis, and bocce courts, as well as an extensive trail system for walkers and joggers.
